At this dinner meeting, we've arranged to bring everyone up to date on Chicago's Energy Benchmarking Ordinance and It's Impact on Building Owners. Our presentation will include speakers who will cover the topic from two viewpoints.

Kathryn Eggers will present an update on the ordinance and explain what has been done so far to implement it. Kathryn is the benchmarking program manager at Elevate Energy, a mission-based organization that designs and implements programs that help people do more with less energy. In this role she works to increase transparency and raise awareness of building energy use through implementation of the Chicago Energy Benchmarking Ordinance and similar initiatives. She also has served as project lead for Energy Impact Illinois, the Regional Green Building Case Study and the Focus on Energy research portfolio while supporting the dynamic pricing and multifamily buildings program and many other initiatives.

Our second speaker, Joe Frankini, The John Buck Company, will offer a firsthand account, from the owner's perspective, of the benefits and impact that the Benchmarking Ordinance has had on their building operations. Joe is Director of Operations for the Buck Management Group. He is responsible for overseeing engineering and operations for the Group’s portfolio of over 20 assets and over 6 million square feet in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. With a background in engineering, operations, project management, development, and asset management, he utilizes his expertise to drive operational efficiency and to create value for ownership. Prior to this, Mr. Frankini worked in the Real Estate and Construction Group at Allstate Insurance Company. He managed tenant improvement projects and provided leadership to field operating personnel across the country and internationally for over 12 million square feet of office space. Mr. Frankini is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and a LEED Accredited Professional
