Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Please join the Illinois Chapter for a refrigeration update on current available refrigerants, phase out dates, and the next generation refrigerant options available to the commercial HVAC industry.

The global scrutiny on the GWP of all current generation refrigerants continues to increase, pushing the industry to next-generation options, including the introduction of new transitional refrigerants to help offset the increasing global demand for HVAC with the requirements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  Recently, the U.S. EPA has issued a final ruling calling out a plan to phase-down and phase-out Hydrofluorocarbons by 85% over the next 15 years. Now is the time to consider HFC alternatives.

Our presenters are two experts in the commercial refrigeration field who will address the topic and discuss current questions the industry may have. Steve Kujack is Director of Next Generation Refrigerant Research for Trane Technologies. Phillip Johnston is Product General Manager for Daikin Applied. Do you have questions that you would like our presenters to answer? If so, click here and let us know what they are. We will to relay your questions to our panelists.

This program is another "hybrid" event combining both in-person and virtual attendance. When registering for either:
◦ To attend in person, select In-Person Registration ($35) when registering. Note: in-person registration is capped at 30 people. Food and refreshements will be provided.
