Meeting/Event Information
Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.
The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.
Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Monitoring-Based Commissioning: An Overview and Best Practices
As buildings in the Chicagoland area strive to become more energy efficient, the Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx) process became a means to dig deeper into the operation of buildings and find opportunities beyond low-hanging fruit. MBCx has also evolved as a new approach and service offering for a building owner or operator beyond just uncovering utility opportunities. This presentation will give an overview on MBCx including best practices, common issues found on projects, and solutions uncovered at various example buildings.
Presenter:
Daniel Hosko, P.E., QCxP, CEM, LEED AP O+M, joined The Hill Group in the Energy Services and Commissioning Department in 2012 after graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. In 2017, the Test & Balance Division and Energy Services and Commissioning Division of Hill merged to form Aero Building Solutions, a construction and consulting services company. Dan has worked on numerous commissioning and retro-commissioning projects through his 9+ year career. His first MBCx project kicked off in 2016 and has worked on over 22 MBCx projects to date.
PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE. A link will be provided to enter the webinar. We encourage everyone to enter the webinars a few minutes before the start of each. A special thank you to our Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA), sponsors and organizers of the annual Spring Conference.
